The Ocean Mail ID™ Privacy Policy

Our Privacy Policy, as listed below, plays an important role in demonstrating our commitment to protecting your privacy as user of Ocean’s plug-in known as Ocean Mail ID™. This Privacy Policy sets forth Ocean’s policy with respect to personally identifiable information (Personal Data) and other information that is collected using Ocean Mail ID™.

Information We Provide:

Ocean Mail ID™ displays information within users’ webmail inbox relative to senders’ and recipients contact information and other relevant sender information including information about the companies associated with the respective senders and recipients. Furthermore, Ocean Mail ID™ will possibly display shared connections within social networks, including, but not limited to the number of known common contacts, social handles, titles, company size, funding and other relevant information.

Ocean Mail ID™ obtains data in three ways: (i) our technology locates and aggregates publicly-available information in a useful way; (ii) we license data from third parties; (iii) individuals contribute data including information about senders and related companies stored in their webmail accounts when using Ocean Mail ID™.

 

 

Information We Collect:

Information you provide by installing Ocean Mail ID™: When you install Ocean Mail ID™, you provide Ocean Mail ID™ access to your webmail account and permission to access and use certain information contained therein relative to the email senders and recipients. Ocean Mail ID™’s technology extracts certain information from your emails. We use information collected in accordance with this Privacy Policy to improve the quality of Ocean Mail ID™ and/or information provided to you and others through the use of Ocean Mail ID™. In exchange for allowing this access, you receive the right to use Ocean Mail ID™, including access to the Ocean Mail ID™ Information.

Ocean Mail ID™ collects the following types of information (including Personal Data) from your webmail emails:

 

•Names

•Email addresses

•Email headers

•Email signatures

 

We will never disclose or identify any individual user as the source of the Ocean Mail ID™ information, except as set forth in the section below titled “Our Disclosure of Your Personal Data and Other Information.” Information received from you through your use of Ocean Mail ID™ will be used by Ocean in accordance with this Privacy Policy as long as the Ocean Mail ID™ extension remain installed. You can stop sharing information with Ocean at any time by uninstalling the Ocean Mail ID™ extension. Information previously shared with Ocean will remain available through Ocean Mail ID™. You may request to have your Personal Data removed from Ocean Mail ID™ at any time by contacting us at support@Ocean.io

 

 

Our Use of Your Personal Data and Other Information:

We use the Personal Data you provide in a manner that is consistent with this Privacy Policy. Ocean ApS and its subsidiaries & affiliates (jointly Related Companies) may also use data collected from you including Personal Data and other personal non-identifiable information collected through Ocean Mail ID™ to improve the content and functionality of Ocean Mail ID™. Ocean ApS and Related Companies may use this information to contact you in the future to tell you about other services provided by us if we believe they may be of interest to you. If we do so, each marketing communication we send you will contain instructions permitting you to “opt-out” of receiving future marketing communications. In addition, if at any time you wish not to receive any future marketing communications or you wish to have your name deleted from our mailing lists, please contact us at support@ocean.io

If Ocean ApS intends to use any Personal Data in any manner that is not consistent with this Privacy Policy, we will let you know ahead of time so that you have the chance to opt-out, if you so choose.

 

 

Our Disclosure of Your Personal Data and Other Information:

Although Ocean ApS is not in the business of selling your Personal Information, there are certain circumstances in which we may share your Personal Data with certain third parties without further notice to you, as set forth below:

Ocean Mail ID™ Information: Ocean ApS may make any information, (including, but not limited to Personal Data) that our users contribute through Ocean Mail ID™ for inclusion in information, that we collect from public web sources or that we license from third parties, available to users of Ocean Mail ID™ and to our strategic partners. Ocean ApS will never identify you as the source of any particular Ocean Mail ID™ information, except in connection with corporate transaction, Related Companies, agents, consultants and related third parties or legal requirements, as further described below.

Corporate Transactions: As we develop our business, we might sell or buy businesses or assets. In the event of a corporate sale, merger, re-organization, dissolution or similar event, Personal Data may be part of the transferred assets. Related Companies: We may also share your Personal Data with our Related Companies for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Agents, consultants and related third parties: Ocean ApS, like many businesses, sometimes hires other companies to perform certain business-related functions. Examples of such functions include mailing information, maintaining databases and processing payments. When we employ another entity to perform a function of this nature, we only provide them with the information that they need to perform their specific function.

Legal Requirements: Ocean ApS may disclose your Personal Data if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to (i) comply with a legal obligation, (ii) protect and defend the rights or property of Ocean ApS, (iii) act in urgent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of Ocean Mail ID™ or the public, or (iv) protect against legal liability.
