It’s that time again – product update!

Mads here with an Ocean.io update from freezing Copenhagen and even colder Kyiv. The snow has been pouring down and the traffic kept at a standstill – but the good news is oceans don’t get frozen over too easily, so everyone at Ocean.io has been hard at work building a better product for you.

Over the last month, we’ve been busy improving our data, as well as upgrading the core functions of Ocean.io. We’re pleased to announce that we are able to identify more people and companies than ever before. Furthermore, we have seen a major uptake in users, meaning that we have more reviews on the Chrome Store! We really appreciate all your help, and all the positive feedback you’ve given us so far.

Version 1.3.0 of Ocean.io comes with huge improvements to our dataset, performance, and new core features as well. We have been working hard on these features for quite a while, and we’re very excited to get them to you.

Here’s a quick overview…

Multiple recipients in threaded mail conversations

A much sought after feature has been the ability to identify people beyond the latest email in a threaded conversation. Version 1.3.0 of Ocean.io does exactly that.

It allows you to gain insights on the people who wrote to you, even if they are not the primary sender. Clicking on an email earlier in the conversation now provides you with information about the sender of that email. But on top of that, if more people are CC’d in the conversation, you’ll get a list of all senders, and attached people in the mail are listed directly in the Ocean.io contact card. Now, it couldn’t be easier to switch to the information for a different sender.

Huge performance gains

Version 1.3.0 marks a major release for the technical functionality of Ocean.io. We are always striving for creating a faster product and our engineers have been hard at work rewriting Ocean.io. This means that you should experience a drastically faster Ocean.io, even on slow connections. We are now able to show you information almost instantaneously.

While version 1.3.0 marks a significant upgrade of Ocean.io, we are already building a better version. Improving the functionality of the multiple-recipients feature, as well as the company matcher introduced in version 1.2.0, are of the highest priority, and we are constantly working on improving our dataset as well as the speed and performance of Ocean.io.

Your data belongs to you
