How does Ocean.io work?
Ocean.io fits neatly into your Gmail. Just open any conversation and Ocean.io will display all the information you need about the sender and the company they’re emailing you from. To use the new Lookup feature, just hit ‘Compose’ and open a new email, or find the Lookup button at the top of the page.
Is Ocean.io easy to use?
Ocean.io is an extension for Chrome, and will appear in your Gmail as soon as you’ve installed it. Manage your account, access the newest features and keep up to date with the latest updates using the Ocean.io icon in your browser.
What kind of information does Ocean.io give me?
Ocean.io shows full contact and company information in the sidebar of your Gmail. You will see the sender’s name, job title, picture, links to their social profiles and what company they represent. You’ll also see the company’s official name, website URL, location, registration number, logo and the number of employees – not to mention whether or not it’s still in business.
Can I use Ocean.io proactively?
With Ocean.io’s Lookup feature you can enter either an email address or a website URL to get personalized, verified information from million of companies worldwide. You’ll find the Lookup feature by opening a new email by hitting ‘Compose’ within Gmail.
How do I uninstall Ocean.io?
Click the Ocean.io icon in your browser and choose ‘remove from Chrome’. Done. You can always reinstall later.
Can I read your EULA?
Of course you can, it’s here: End-user License Agreement. This is the agreement between you and Ocean.io when you install the extension.
Is Ocean.io available on Firefox?
For now, Ocean.io is available only for Chrome. We’ll be rolling it out on other major browser in the near future. Stay tuned!
Can I use Ocean.io in Microsoft Outlook?
For now, Ocean.io is available only for Gmail. We’re always working hard to improve it, and we have big plans to open Ocean.io up to everyone, no matter what email provider they use.
Where can I find Ocean.io on my smartphone?
For now, Ocean.io is a desktop product. You can install it as an extension for the Chrome browser and use it within Gmail. We’re working hard on a mobile app.
Does Ocean.io take care of my data?
What permissions does Ocean.io ask for?
Will Ocean.io ever read my emails?
No – unlike some other services – and we never will. Ocean.io doesn’t need to know what you’re writing to give you the inside track on who you’re writing to. Some things should always be private, don’t you think?
Is Ocean.io compliant with the European GDPR?
Yes, we are proud to be compliant. The European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will require that we keep our European customers’ data protected in line with a general standard throughout the European Union and will apply to all EU member states from May 25, 2018. Will Ocean.io sell my data?
Will you ever send me or my contacts any unsolicited email or spam?
No, we wouldn’t dream of it. We only scan the sender information to show you who’s behind the emails you receive – nothing else. Unless you subscribe to our newsletter, you’ll only get helpful messages from us when you first install Ocean.io, confirm your Pro subscription and if you successfully invite friends to start using Ocean.io.
How much does Ocean.io cost?

When does my plan expire?
Essential is free forever, so there’s no need to worry. Paid plans (Pro, Enterprise) renew automatically every month, and will expire at the end of the most recent billing period following cancellation.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
You can manage your account by clicking the Ocean.io icon in your browser. Just go to ‘Manage’ on the account overview tab and click ‘Cancel my subscription’. Your plan will expire at the end of the most recent billing period.
How can I pay for Ocean.io?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover, Maestro, UnionPay, JCB, Diners Club, and American Express. Cards must be enabled for recurring e-commerce transactions.
